Amazon.com Product Description
In an avalanche emergency, only one thing counts: unconditional hands-on reliability. Enter the PEIPS Freeride avalanche search beacon, the preferred tool for resort skiers who occasionally adventure off the beaten path. Compact and lightweight, the fully digital, single-antenna beacon is as small as a mobile phone. More significantly, the beacon offers a digital range of up to 40 meters--with directional indication at 30 meters--helping rescuers quickly locate your signal when buried under snow. In addition, the Freeride also helps locate other beacon signals depending on the mode you're using, with a send mode, a search mode, and an option for locating multiple beacons in a single avalanche. In the case of multiple burials, all signals are processed simultaneously, but only the strongest signal is shown on the display. However, users can also temporarily deactivate the Freeride via the iProbe function to focus on the next strongest signal, making PIEPS equipment the first truly reliable safety solution for multiple avalanche burials.

Other details include dynamic field line guiding, a fallback function in case of a second avalanche, and a synthetic generated tone.
